2002 - Modern Rome Tour

2002 sees the Rolling Drunks touring their new album “Modern Rome”.
With Horst Jabs (guitar, vocal)  and Neal Thomson (bass, vocal), the addition of new members Thomas Weick (lead guitar) and Thomas Wacht (drums) has created possibly the best ever RDs line up and enabled the band to do full justice to their songs. The heavy rock live set comprises past classics plus selections from the new album, with new (as yet unrecorded) songs added in, as the tour progresses. Sound and mixing is now, as ever, in the capable hands of Mark Kelber and Andreas Maucher.

1999 / 2000

Commencing in summer 1999, the RDs gigged over the next 10 months in pubs and at open-air venues in Germany. The set focused on songs from the “Two Of A Kind” album as well as a number of rock and blues standards. In this Line-up Neal reverted back to drums with Horst as ever on vocals and guitar. The band was much assisted by a keyboardist/singer and bass player Georg Grimm from Hamburg who played in Tony Sheridan's band in the 60’s and has since, in his long international career as a tour and session musician, played with other big names in rock such as Eric Clapton and Albert Lee. Lead guitar was played by American Kevin Zinn, originally from Pittsburg, PA, but now resident in Germany. He has been a regular contributor to RDs live and studio projects since the mid-90’s.

1997

Whilst working on the “Two Of A Kind” album, the RDs played a few sporadic gigs during '97 as a break from the recording schedule. The gigs were mostly “unplugged” in nature and the Line-up featured Horst, Neal and Kevin Zinn on acoustic guitar plus Andreas Maucher on keyboard.

1992 - 2002 Acoustic pub gigs

During the formative years of the band, Horst and Neal played regularly in pubs in England and Germany as an acoustic guitar duo and the tradition continues to this day providing an opportunity to play new songs, old songs and everything in between (if they can remember at least some of the chords).

1991 - Festhalle

A legendary night at the Festhalle, Leopoldshafen - the first ever RDs gig with Mark Kelber on bass and percussion provided by various members of the audience. Much beer was consumed and the future was clear thereafter !
